Éditeur-diffuseur spécialisé, notre établissement propose un vaste choix d’ouvrages concernant le domaine slave :

des textes de sciences humaines, historiques et philologiques, des méthodes de langue, des grammaires et des lexiques russe-français. Nous éditons également des ouvrages consacrés aux pays de l’Europe centrale, orientale et balkanique, à leur culture et à leur histoire avant et après la chute du communisme.

 

L’Institut d’études slaves est un établissement reconnu d’utilité publique (Journal officiel du 27 mars 1920 et décret du 22 novembre 1925).

Il fut créé en 1919 par l’historien Ernest Denis grâce à l’aide du Gouvernement français et des Gouvernements tchécoslovaque et yougoslave. Il bénéficia également, à partir de 1923, d’une participation de la Pologne.

L’Institut d’études slaves est un établissement autonome régi par la loi de 1901 sur les associations. Il fut rattaché à l’Université de Paris (par une convention du 14 mars 1922), qui était de 1921 à 1981 propriétaire de l’immeuble qui l’abrite. En 1981, l’immeuble a été transféré à l’université de Paris-Sorbonne, puis cédé à l’État en 1982.

Depuis 1991, la gestion de l’immeuble est assurée par l’université Paris-Sorbonne à laquelle il a été attribué à titre de dotation.

Vocation première : « Promouvoir la connaissance scientifique des choses slaves » (E. Denis)

Entre 1919 et 1948, l’Institut d’études slaves était mandaté par le ministère des Affaires étrangères pour être le lieu d’accueil des étudiants slaves boursiers du Gouvernement français qui venaient en grand nombre pour suivre les cours de la prestigieuse Sorbonne.

Ces étudiants trouvaient sur place, outre le service comptable qui leur délivrait les mensualités de leur bourse, une tutelle pédagogique assurée par des fonctionnaires détachés par les ministères de l’Éducation de leurs pays respectifs. Ils disposaient rue Michelet de locaux pour leurs clubs, leurs réunions culturelles, leurs salles de lecture ou leurs concerts.

L’Institut d’études slaves assurait en outre la tutelle des instituts français qui étaient très actifs dans les pays slaves, notamment l’Institut Ernest-Denis à Prague, les instituts français de Sofia, de Zagreb, etc. Ces fonctions d’accueil et de tutelle de l’Institut ont pris fin avec les transformations politiques liées à la Deuxième Guerre mondiale.

La collection des ouvrages de la Bibliothèque russe de l’Institut d’études slaves est la continuation des publications de l’Institut français de Saint-Pétersbourg dont le premier volume remonte à 1912.

Accompagnement de la recherche

En regroupant la plus grande partie des enseignants et des chercheurs dans son domaine, l’Institut occupe une place privilégiée pour assurer un rôle de coordinateur des recherches menées en France sur les pays de l’Est.
Des programmes de colloques, l’édition d’actes de colloques, de communications françaises destinées aux congrès tenus à l’étranger sont organisés en collaboration organique avec les grands établissements français :

Centre national de la recherche scientifique,
École des hautes études en sciences sociales,
Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales,
universités parisiennes et de province.

Cette activité d’accompagnement s’étend à la recherche pédagogique, en collaboration avec l’Inspection générale de russe et l’Association française des russisants (avec laquelle l’IES partage le siège).

L’Institut abrite également une bibliothèque couvrant une grande variété de domaines de la slavistique : russe, ukrainien, biélorusse, tchèque, slovaque, polonais, serbe, croate, slovène, macédonien, bulgare, sorabe, polabe, albanais, balte, hongrois, roumain… Elle a en dépôt le fonds slave de l’Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (IRHT) et dispose de précieuses archives et manuscrits.

Fonctionnement

Association d’utilité publique, l’Institut est dirigé par un conseil d’administration élu par l’assemblée générale des membres. À son tour, le conseil désigne en son sein un bureau.

The Institute of Slavic Studies is dedicated to publishing and diffusion of a wide range of works concerning slavic field :

Texts in human sciences, with historical or philological angle, manuals of learning and teaching various languages, grammars, russian-french lexicons… We’re also publishing works devoted to East, Oriental and balkanic European countries, to their culture and their history before and after the fall of the communism.

Our Institute is a state-approved establishment (Journal officiel of the 27th March 1920, and decree of the 22th November 1925).

It has been created in 1919 by the historian Ernest Denis, with the help of the French, Czechoslovakian and Yugoslavian governments. It benefited also, since 1923, of a participation of Poland. It’s an autonomous establishment, governed by the law of 1901 on the associations : the agreement of the 14th March 1922 attached it to the University of Paris, which was, from 1921 to 1981, the owner of the building where the Institute is settled. In 1981, the building has been transfered to the university Paris-Sorbonne, then given up to the State in 1982.

Since 1991, the university Paris-Sorbonne is in charge of the maintenance of the building, assigned as a gift.

 

First vocation : « To promote scientific knowledge of the Slavic field » (E. Denis)

From 1919 and 1948, the Institute of Slavic Studies was mandated by the ministry of Foreign Affairs to welcome Slavic students who benefiting from a grant of the French government. They were coming massively to take courses in the prestigious Sorbonne.

Theses students were finding there, in addition to the accountancy offices, delivering monthly payments of their grants, a pedagogical tutelage provided by the ministeries of Education of their respective countries. They had on the Michelet Street premises for their clubs, their cultural meetings, their concerts, and rooms where they could read.

Besides, the Institute were supervizing French institutes that were very active in Slavic countries, in particular the Institute Ernest-Denis in Prague, the French institutes of Sofia, Zagreb, etc. Theses functions of reception and supervision ended with the political transformations of World War II.

The collection of works of the Russian Library of the Institute of Slavic Studies is the continuation of the publications of the French Institute of Saint Petersburg, whose first volume dates back to 1912.

Coordination of research

Gathering most of the teachers and researchers in its field, the Institute has a privileged position to coordinate researches conducted in France on Eastern countries.

Programs of colloquiums, publishing of conference proceedings, of French talks in foreign colloquiums, are made in close collaboration with important French establishments :

The National Center of Scientific Research (Centre national de la recherche scientifique)

The School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (École des hautes études en sciences sociales)

The National Institute of Western Languages and Civilisations (Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales)

Parisian and provincial universities.

This activity of coordination concerns pedagogical research, in collaboration with the General Inspectorate of Russian Language (Inspection générale du russe) and the French Association of Russianists – Association française des russisants (The Institute and the AFR share the same building).

Functioning

The head of the Institute is a board elected by the general assembly of its members. The board chooses then a head office within itself.

Институт славяноведения занимается выпуском и распространением широкого круга изданий, посвященных славянским странам:

Здесь Вы сможете найти работы по гуманитарным наукам, истории и филологии, пособия по изучению языков, грамматики и русско-французские словари. Мы также издаем работы, посвященные странам Центральной и Восточной Европы,  их культуре и истории до и после падения коммунистического строя.

Наш институт является признанным государственным учреждением (Официальная запись от 27 марта 1920 года и Декрет 22 ноября 1925 г.)

Институт был основан в 1919 году историком Эрнестом Денисом при содействии правительств Франции, Чехословакии и Югославии. С 1923 года институту также помогает правительство Польши.

Институт славяноведения – самостоятельное (автономное) учреждение, управляемое в соответствии с законом от 1901 года об ассоциациях. Конвенцией от 14 марта 1022 года Институт был передан под управление Парижскому Университету, которому здание Института принадлежало с 1921 по 1981 год. В 1981 году здание было передано Университету Сорбонна, затем государству в 1982 году.

Начиная с 1991 года университет Сорбонна несет ответственность за поддержание состояния здания, оставленного университету в дар.

 

Первое призвание: « Продвигать научное знание славянских дел » (Э. Денис)

С 1919 по 1948 год Институт славяноведения находился в ведении Министерства Иностранных Дел и принимал студентов-стипендиатов французского правительства из славянских стран. Множество таких студентов приезжали учиться в престижном университете Сорбонна.

В стенах Института студенты находили не только финансовую поддержку, (бухгалтерию, которая выплачивала им стипендии ежемесячно), но и педагогическую опеку со стороны министерств образования своих стран. На улице Мишле у них были помещения, где располагались клубы, читальные залы, а также проходили культурные мероприятия и концерты.

Кроме того, институт  содействовал французским институтам, активным в славянских странах, в частности институту Эрнест-Денис в Праге, Французским институтам в Софии, Загребе и т.д. Эти функции приема и опеки институт потерял в связи с политическими изменениями, произошедшими в результате Второй мировой войны.

Коллекция произведений Русской библиотеки Славянского института является продолжением публикаций Французского института в Санкт-Петербурге, первый том которого вышел в 1912 году.

Организация исследовательской работы

Собрав под своим началом большинство профессоров и исследователей в данной области, Институт обладает исключительным правом координировать проводимые во Франции исследования, посвященные Восточной Европе.

Программы коллоквиумов, программы расширенного обучения, выпуск протоколов  конференций, выступлений французских исследователей за границей, – все эти действия ведутся в тесном сотрудничестве с заметными французскими институтами:

Национальный центр научных исследований, Высшая школа социальных наук, Национальный институт восточных языков и культур, ряд университетов Парижа и других городов.

Деятельность по координации научных исследований распространяется на педагогические исследования и ведется совместно с Генеральной инспекцией русского языка и Ассоциацией русистов во Франции (которая располагается в том же здании, что и Славянский институт).

В Институте также есть библиотека с изданиями, посвященными широкому кругу областей славистики: русской, украйнской, белорусской, чешской, словацкой, польской, хорватской, словенской, македонской, болгарской, лужицкой, полабской, албанской, прибалтийской, венгерской, румынской… B ведении библиотеки также находятся славянский фонд института исследований и истории текстов (IRHT) и ценные архивы и рукописи.

Упраление институтом

Институтом управляет административный совет, избираемый генеральным советом членов Института. В свою очередь административный совет выбирает главу Института из числа своих членов.
